This Week (September 26 - 30) in Geometry Class!

This week, we will be covering Midpoints in Segments, Exploring Angles, and more TTM.

There are two types of midpoint formulas: one is for a number line and the other is for the coordinate plane.

There are also many types of angles to be explored:

This Week (September 26 - 30) in Algebra Class!

This week, we will be covering 'Four Sisters', Order of Operations, Evaluating Expressions, and doing more TTM work. 'Four Sisters' involves a race between four siblings.

Here is a video on Order of Operations:

Here is a video on Evaluating Expressions:

This Week in Algebra!

In Algebra, we are reviewing graphs: step graphs and multi-line graphs. We are also talking about algebraic expressions. Here are some sample problems similar to the quiz questions:

Later, we will tackle Order of Operations.

This Week in Geometry!

This week we are talking about Measuring Distance: on a number line or using Pythagorean Theorem in a coordinate plane or using the Distance Formula in a coordinate plane.

Here is an in-class example of Pythagorean Thm applied to the coordinate plane.

Here is an in-class example of the Distance Formula on the coordinate plane.

Later this week, we will be doing Midpoint of Segments: algebraically and with a compass.

It's A Brand New Year!

I will be weekly posting information about Algebra Class and Geometry Class on this blog for 2016-2017 school year.

Algebra Class: Last week and this week we are talking about graphs: distance vs. time, temperature vs. time, speed vs. time, etc.

Here are some notes from the last few days:

Geometry Class: Last week and this week we are talking about the coordinate plane and points, lines and planes.

Here are some notes from the last few days:

Remember the coordinate plane. Where are the quadrants? Which is the x and y axis? Define a point in each quadrant.

Remember about points, lines, and planes. Can you identify them based on the labels? Can you draw a figure?

Remember about parallel and skew.
