Honors Geometry Notes for this Week: February 17 - 19, 2016

Last week and this week, we talked about SSS, SAS, ASA, and AAS.

Later in the week, we will discuss CPCTC and Isosceles Triangles.

Algebra Notes for this Week February 17 - 19, 2016

Today we looked at the change in Domain values and Range values.

After noticing that the equations were linear, we were able to find the various things mentioned above.



We also talked about intercepts, using the x and y intercept to graph linear equations.

We are discussing SSS, SAS, and ASA for congruent triangles. Remember that SSS is proven algebraically using the distance formula mostly.

In Algebra This Week ...

This week in Algebra ...
We are connecting the equation, table and graph to word problems.
For instance: Suzie earns $2 a mile in a marathon. She started off with $5 dollars.
The equation is y = 2x + 5, because 2 represents the amount she earns for walk each mile, 5 represents how much money she had the very beginning, before the marathon started.

The slope is 2; the y intercept is 5.

Honors Geometry This Week!

Congruent Figures, Congruent Triangles.

For the next two weeks, we will be learning about the different ways to prove triangles are congruent. Online I will be posting proofs of various theorems that we will explore in class.

Here is a video on Congruent Triangles. It is interesting. Next week's quiz will involve some of the ideas in this video.
